Almost Ready to Go!!!

The babies are almost all weaned. Eating lots of seed, toast, grass, twigs and blood worms. Learned to drink and they also bathe in the water cup. Spend the day in the backyard. I think sometime next week they will be able to leave.

Growing Up

What a difference a week makes - they have learned how to perch and they practice flying from the bottom of the cage to the top. Learning how to eat seeds but still want their formula every couple of hours. They preen their feathers and one of them has mastered sleeping on the perch with its head tucked under its wing.
Teca still is very fascinated with them and still watches me feed them.
Won't be long until they are ready for the big outside world.

Baby Sparrows

Teca and I became care-givers for 2 baby sparrows last Thursday.
They were eating every hour but today have started going an hour and a half!!
These are Teca's babies. When they chirp she is right there to check on them and she watches me feed them. She spends a lot of time draped over the arm of the chair.

Easter Sunday 2009

Here's three pictures of our Easter Sunday. Excellent time in Dee's beautiful yard. The last picture is of Ben who is a really nice guy. Gus played ball, Idgie wandered around and Teca just followed the other dogs around. Great Day!!!
